a personal message to OFSTED UNISON members in Greater London

I would like to sincerely and from the bottom of my heart thank all those UNISON members who have been in touch with me to wish me well. I am so very sorry that I cannot reply to any of your emails, telephone calls and cards, due to instructions from Ofsted.

However, I want you all to know that your wishes uplift me every single day. Thank you again. It has been, still is, and always will be my privilege to be your union representative.

I also want to thank UNISON officials Stuart Barber, Jon Rogers, Nick Venedi and the Lambeth UNISON group for their support and assistance.

Roulla is so greatly loved and missed, everyone I have spoken to is outraged by the treatment of Roulla by snr management in Ofsted. Sadly Ofsted are controlling their staff by fear - fear of being sacked or fear of being the next victim of their 'bullying' tactics. Come on all you Ofsted UNISON members, lets all have the courage to stand up and say 'no more bullying' & enough is enough, try treating us like human beings and not robots'. Lots of love and best wishes to you Roullla, you are one very strong & courageous woman. xx

Why are Ofsted so short sighted? Do they not realise that Roulla Xyrizos may be outspoken and stand up for her colleagues and more importantly, young children, but she also follows procedures to the letter, she knows the rules and the conduct expectations of Ofsted employees and ensures that she works within these, sometimes unrealistic, boundaries. Bring Roulla back, we need more Roullas not less.

Having read these comments, I am adding my own - and that is to say that without Roulla, many CCI's would not be able to continue in this job. She has always been there for those who have been bullied, suspended, harassed and victimised. This organisation has excellent policies regarding all the above. In practice though, it cares not a jot for it's employees' well being, does not value early years staff, is a bully and quite frankly one of the worst - if not the worst - employers that I and many of my colleagues have had the misfortune to work for. It does not pay attention to its own policies and should be graded as Inadequate 2, put on special measures and closed down!

Why is it taking Ofsted so long to investigate the issues that led to Roulla being suspended? The organisation enjoys leaving people to 'stew' and 'worry themselves senseless' about so called jumped up cases being made against them. Come on Ofsted, let Roulla get on with the job she does so well. Ofsted is a childcare regulator not running auditions for extras to appear in 'The Bill'!!!!!!!
